Committee staff and Ms. Paule Constable September 2, Sha Xiaolan, Director of Lighting Committee, China Institute of Stage Design, Sun Haifeng, Director of the Office and Foreign Affairs Official Wang Zhuojun visited Ms.Paule Constable, the lighting designer for War Horse at National Theater of China.

Paule Constable won the 2005, 2006, 2009, 2013, 2020 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Lighting Design. She received a Tony Award in 2011 for her work with War Horse, and she’s been awarded for her light design of the The Curious Incident of the Dog the Night-Time. She graduated from English & Drama Programme at Goldsmiths, University of London. She has also worked on many opera productions including the Royal Opera, English National Opera, Opera North, Scottish Opera and Welsh National Opera.

Sha Xiaolan presented the invitation of the 3rd China Stage Art Exhibition to Paule and invited her to join seminars and academic exchange during the conference in November at Beijing. Paule expressed her appreciation and willingness of participation.

While Paule appreciated the picture book Scenography China 2020-2010, Sha Xiaolan introduced briefly about the past and future China Stage Art Exhibition. Paule spoke highly of the academic core of such Exhibition and recalled her working experience as well as her literature background. Mr.Sha gave the picture book to Paule as a gift and Paule invited Mr.Sha to Britain for relevant academic exhibitions.
